New Picnic Shelter
Due to increasing number of parties and groups attending our runs, AMR has decided to purchase a 6m x 6m gable carport to form a new picnic shelter.
As we had been left some money in a past members deceased estate, in fitting memory to this member we will use the money to purchase the shelter, and inturn will name it the "Jack Jarrett Shelter".
Below is the location where the shelter is going to be erected. It will be replacing the current picnic table that is located behind the pole seat.
This is the carport that we are using as a picnic shelter. It is an Double Gable Carport - Zincalume from Absco
Removal of exisiting picnic table - 24/1/2009
These set of photos shows the deconstruction and removal of the exisiting picnic table in preperation for the digging of footings.
Work started with the removal of the table top, the the concrete that was holding the sand and brick in place. Upon removal of the concrete the bricks were then removed exposing a pound of sand and table uprights. The sand was collected and placed with another pile of sand.
Work then started with the removal of the uprights, as you can see they were in the ground a fair depth.
The next step will be the marking out of the corners and location of the footings.
